aches, which are clove oil, sea salt, and peppermint oil.

Let food be thy medicine for a toothache!
The most advanced preppers stockpile dietary supplements,
essential oils and herbs to ready themselves to fight a tooth
infection and other ailments naturally.

Anyone into naturopathic medicine can get a kick start to helping
your body cure a tooth infection from the inside out specifically
with two dietary supplements*:

  • Infection Formula. Created by Dr. John R. Christopher, who
founded Dr. Christopher's School of Natural Healing in 1953,
Christopher's Original formula dietary supplement "Infection
Formula*" contains a proprietary blend of black walnut leaf,
goldenseal root, bugleweed herb, plantain leaf, marshmallow
root and lobelia herb with no added fillers or chemicals. It's
a synergistic blend of herbs for the lymphatic system. These
herbs feed your body to restore balance to your lymphatic
    system.

You see, when you eat food, your body digests and sends
nutrients to every living cell. As the cells process these
nutrients, it creates some waste in the process. Because an
abundance of waste in your lymphatic vessels builds up over
time, it can block your lymph nodes, and decrease your
body's ability to fight infections. That's the basis behind the
formula. Click on the image and you'll discover why this five-
star rated formula is a good start for how to cure a tooth
infection and more. Dr. Christopher's time tested Infection
formula supports the body's lymphatic system which is
    helpful to promote overall health.

  • Kyolic aged garlic extract. Ask any dentist and you'll find
that at the heart of the problem of a tooth infection is that
it can lead to overall health problems, including
cardiovascular problems. Kyolic aged garlic extract is a
formula that supports and strengthens your cardiovascular
system by reducing the major risk factors and promoting
overall heart health. Made of 100% organically grown garlic
bulbs, Kyolic, this product gets 4.8 out of 5 stars. The key to
high ratings is that it is aged garlic. As one reviewer wrote,
"Most garlic claims such as 'Allicin' is the key beneficial
compound is based on outdated information. Kyolic is the
only garlic on this planet that 'ages' the garlic, which in turn,
changes the harsh compounds into constituents that are
    extremely beneficial."

Natural cures for tooth aches and infections
Discuss with your doctor on natural methods for curing a tooth
infection before taking antibiotics to see if it is an option for you.
Develop a personal strategy, which may include a combination of
healing options. Here are some ideas for how to avoid using
antibiotics for a tooth infection which you should consider as an
adjunct to treatment if it's available for you...

#1: Activated charcoal.
Available in capsules or tablets, the scary black pills look
poisonous, they make your teeth black and they also will give you
black stools. Do you dare take
activated charcoal?

If you are not taking any other medications, then you should
consider
activated charcoal as a remedy. While this black magic
potion may seem both mysterious and scary, you can rest
assured that man has relied on activated charcoal for centuries.
Most people get wind of this unusual medicine of our ancestral
past for use as a way to relieve bloating, but activated charcoal
has many other uses and benefits. Activated charcoal can
promote healing of dental caries, whiten teeth and it can also
relieve pain associated with dental infections.

As unfamiliar as it is to you, every emergency room in the United
States has a supply of activated charcoal to help deal with drug
overdose and accidental poisonings. As a binding agent,
activated charcoal attracts toxins and carries them out of your
body, which is why it is popular with travellers as it can help with
diarrhea. Activated charcoal can also help carry the toxins from
your mouth.

How to use activated charcoal to help your body cure a tooth
infection:

  • Crush an activated charcoal tablet form and make a
paste. Alternatively, remove the gelatin exterior of activated
charcoal capsule form of approximately five capsules and
make a paste by mixing it with a couple of drops of coconut
oil, flaxseed oil, olive oil, or sesame oil. Empty a tea bag or
cut a portion of cheese cloth or muslin to wrap the paste.
Then tuck this little pocket of natural medicine in your gum
line of the affected tooth for approximately ten minutes.

NOTE: Activated charcoal's high a
dsorbency may reduce the
effectiveness of certain medications, so be sure to consult with
your physician before use.

#2: Apple cider vinegar.
Beneficial acids called acetic acid and malic acids in apple cider
vinegar make it a potent source of help for tooth pain. Since
pioneer times, apple cider vinegar has been a useful ingredient
both in terms of a food source and for first aid. While you can
read our
article on the benefits of apple cider vinegar in prepping,
you should consider using it first for oral health because of its
antibacterial power.

While apple cider alone won't cure a tooth infection naturally, it
certainly provides a beneficial preparation. You see, tooth aches
are a warning from body alerting you that it is unable to fight off
an infection. It's your job to take the cue and provide your body
what it needs to heal itself. That's where apple cider vinegar
comes into play. Apple cider vinegar has an acidity level that eats
away at stains and discoloration and helps take a bite out of the
bacteria. Why not give it a try until help arrives.

How to use to apple cider vinegar help cure a tooth infection:

  • Use apple cider vinegar like mouthwash. Swish it around
your mouth to allow the acidity to work its magic. A sideline
benefit is that you'll have a brighter smile. It whitens your
teeth! To eliminate pain, mix apple cider vinegar with honey
and cayenne pepper. The honey and vinegar have
antibacterial properties and the capaicin in the cayenne will
help eliminate pain. It's also an ideal elixir for a sore throat.

#3: Anise oil / Aniseed oil.
With a distinct licorice-like aroma, aniseed oil is an antiseptic
that's uplifting, balancing and comforting. Is a flavoring oil that's
not so easy to find. Derived from aniseed, Pimpinella anisum was
well known to settlers of North America because it promotes
digestive health. Preppers generally aren't very familiar with
anise oil, but it has a wide array of uses beyond oral health,
including:
  1. antiseptic
  2. analgesic (pain reliever) - mostly for arthritic pain
  3. expectorant
  4. natural lice treatment option
  5. natural insecticide
  6. narcotic
  7. sedative

Because it's an antiseptic, anise essential oil gives wounds an
effective protective layer against infections and
sepsis. A sideline
benefit is that is an aphrodisiac.

How to use to help your body cure a tooth infection:

  • Apply anise oil topically. Soak a cotton ball with aniseed oil
and dab it to the affected area of the mouth to temporarily
relieve the pain of dental cavities. It is an antiseptic that
    mixes well with peppermint oil.

  • NOTE: Do not use anise oil with children as the narcotic
effects, which slow down respiration and circulation are too
much for small children to bear.

#4: Black pepper.
Since ancient Egyptian times, black pepper has been a much
sought after spice. The dark, luxurious spice has natural
antibiotic properties and can help with bacterial infections and
black pepper can also get rid of ants.  Bacteria just can't thrive in
an area coated with black pepper powder. Black pepper will stop
gums from bleeding and it will sooth inflammation of a tooth
infection. This method isn't for everyone, but it's worth a try if
you can tolerate the black pepper.

How to use black pepper to help your body cure a tooth
infection:

  • Take black pepper powder in combination with sea salt.
Use roughly half teaspoon of salt to a full teaspoon of black
pepper powder. Rub the afflicted area at least three times
daily, and leave it in for at least ten minutes. This dynamic
duo has analgesic, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory
    properties.

#5: Black tea bag (organic).
If you are experiencing an abscess, wedge a wet tea bag in your
gum. The tannins in black tea can work to immediately reduce
inflammation. Black tea contains polyphenols, which will interact
to control plaque  to kill or hold back the bacteria. This prevents
bacteria from growing or producing the acid that attacks teeth.

You'll find black tea bags in medic kits for this very reason.
Alternatively, you can use chamomile tea, green tea. Start by
wetting the bag and then leaving it in your mouth for several
hour. Some people choose to leave it in overnight, but be
forewarned that it is a choking hazard. (Never allow a child to
sleep with it.)

How to use black tea to help cure a tooth infection:

  • Make a tea bag compress. To use black tea to reduce
inflammation on a tooth abscess, make a wet tea bag
compress  by moistening a bag of tea and then wedging in
your cheek to the affected area. Leave it in your mouth for
several hours. It is a choking hazard, but if you are able to
sleep with a tea bag tucked in your cheek it can help.

Read on about how to fight a tooth infection, but make it a
priority to get an organic black tea. Many dental kits include black
tea, like the Dental Medic kit pictured top right of the page. Good
to stock,
tea has many other survival uses.

#6: Cayenne.
Cayenne can dull the pain of an tooth abscess, according to Dr.
John R. Christopher in his book, School of Natural Healing. An
abscess is a collection of pus within a body cavity and cayenne
can also reduce this mucus.

Remedy the problem by applying cayenne pepper fluid extract to
the abscess or boil. Interested to learn more about cayenne?
Celebrate the healing powers of cayenne.

#7: Chamomile.
Chamomile tea and chamomile essential oil are valuable to
preppers. Chamomile can help relax painful spasms in the
digestive track. This potent herb relaxes both mind and muscles,
which can help with emotional imbalance, sleep, and physical
pain.

How to use chamomile to help cure a tooth infection:

  • Soak a chamomile tea bag in water and apply to the
affected area. Chamomile works also on canker sores, too.

#8: Cinnamon.
Cinnamon essential oil is a valued home remedy for dental care.
In Ayurvedic medicine as well, practioners remedy a toothache
with cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum cassia). Cassia cinnamon can
inkindle a digestive "fire" and eliminate natural toxins in the GI
tract.

How to use cassia cinnamon to help your body cure a tooth
infection:

  • Take Cassia cinnamon orally.

  • NOTE: Ceylon cinnamon, also known as "true cinnamon," has
a subtly more delicate and sweet flavor than the more
common cassia cinnamon. Ceylon Cinnamon is a powerful
anti-oxidant that supports healthy blood glucose levels,
promotes a healthier heart, supports your weight loss goals
by discouraging insulin spikes, and promotes healthy joints.

#9: Coconut oil pulling.
A tradition of aryuvedic medicine, oil pulling has been gaining in
popularity with the prepping community. When your tooth's hard
enamel suffers damage, it allows infecting organisms to enter the
tooth to cause pain and inflammation. That's why it's important
to keep your teeth mineralized with such techniques as oil pulling
and gentle tooth powders and toothpastes that are fluoride free.

How to use coconut oil to help your body cure a tooth infection:

  • Take a spoonful of coconut oil in solid or liquid state and
swish with it for 10-20 minutes before brushing your teeth.
Do not gargle, but  allow for the liquid, as it melts in your
mouth, to penetrate the crevices in your teeth. The process
will allow particles, bacteria and plaque to loosen or
dislodge. Do not swallow the oil, spit it out into the
garbage. Do not allow the oil to go down the drain or it may
clog as it hardens. Consult with the video below.

Secret ways to help your body heal itself without seeing the dentist.
Always see a Dentist, but know what to do if you got a toothache
during the
Coronavirus pandemic and when there is no dentist!

Not everyone can cure a tooth infection* naturally, but just about
everyone should give it a try. Let nature be thy medicine!  Your
body has an amazing ability to heal itself and the world is
awakening to accept natural cures for tooth infections, tooth
decay and other ailments, instead of always relying on antibiotics
and costly procedures.

*If you've already had a root canal you must extract the rest of the
tooth which is making you sick before you can start the healing
process. See an oral surgeon to remove the tooth and not an
endodontist to save the tooth. An Endodontist performs root
canals, which are toxic, according to Dr. Mercola and Dr. Kulacz
(please see their important video if you have ever had a root canal,
which is at the bottom of this page).

How to help your body cure a dental infection naturally
Your dentist won't tell you the many natural remedies for curing
your tooth infection or for reducing the symptoms of a tooth
infection. First, understand that your toothache didn't happen
overnight. The first signs may be a sensitivity to cold, to heat or
to sugary foods, but the problem started long before you felt
something. Causes of tooth infection are numerous and may
include:

To resolve a tooth infection, you must get to the root cause and
treat the infection on the inside as well as the outside. If you or
a loved one has a tooth infection, get started treating it naturally
(with
natural antibiotics) until you can get the help you need.
You likely will be able to resolve your problem until you can
either get the dental help you need or make lifestyle changes,
including changing your diet and eliminating toxins.

A dental abscess treatment can be found naturally. Here is more
good information:

  • Secrets your Dentist Doesn't want you to know about:
Before you get a root canal: Dr. Mercola suggests you ask
about the ferrule effect. You see, a root canal is "unlikely to
be successful if you don't have enough tooth structure above
the gum line to protect the tooth from coming loose or
fracturing after it has been prepared for a crown." In short,
you'd be better off with an extraction and an implant. Read

  • Cure tooth decay: heal and  prevent cavities with nutrition.
After you read Ramiel Nagel's book, Cure Tooth Decay: Heal

your diet, feed your family only raw milk, and grass-fed meat,

#10: Cucumber (room temperature).
Cucumber can have a soothing and hemostatic effect as a
toothache remedy.  Hemostasis is a process which causes
bleeding to stop. In retarding blood flow to the affected tooth, a
slice of room temperature cucumber can sooth inflammation. As
well a cucumber has vitamins and nutrients to promote wound
healing, so you'd be wise to add cucumber salad to your diet.

How to use to help your body cure a tooth infection:

  • Select a raw organic, unwaxed and unfrefrigerated cucumber
to apply to the affected area in your mouth to draw out pus
and reduce inflammation. Discard after a period of around 20-
    30 minutes in your mouth.

  • Eat organic cucumber, including the unwaxed skin, which is
high in Vitamin A. Cucumbers are also an excellent source of
silica, which helps the body heal cartilage and bone as well
as connective tissues in muscles, ligaments, and tendons.

Finally, it's important to know that cucumber won't alone heal
your tooth infection ~ you must use cucumber in combination with
other remedies listed.

#11: Cloves.
Want to stop a toothache instantly? The answer is cloves! Not
only are cloves are the highest antioxidant herb, according to Dr.
Josh Axe, but it is a nutrient worth adding to your diet. This
spice, which has germicidal properties, has eugenol, which serves
a natural anesthetic in cloves. It will numb your tongue and the
area of the tooth that you're targeting. It has a sideline benefit
of getting rid of bad breath.

  • Clove Bud. Clove Bud essential oil smells spicy and rich like
actual cloves. One of the primary antibacterial and antifungal
essential oils, clove bud oil is also widely know for easing
pain, notably when caused by dental problems. Use a low
dilution and massage with your favorite carrier oil on the
outer jaw to help with a toothache. There are possible drug
interactions, so talk with your health practitioner.

How to use cloves to help your body cure a tooth infection:

  • Dilute 3-4 drops of clove oil in warm water with almond oil
    and gargle twice daily.

  • You can make your own clove oil using ground cloves and
    olive oil.

  • Alternatively, you can add drops of clove oil to coconut oil as
    a toothpaste

It's important to know that cloves or clove oil won't heal your
tooth infection on its own; however, it will numb the pain and
help with the healing process.

#12: Colloidal silver.
In protocol, use 10 parts per million of colloidal silver a topical
rinse. You can also take an oral supplement to promote overall
well being.
Colloidal silver has many uses in prepping.

How to use colloidal silver to help your body cure a tooth
infection:
  • Pour a small amount of colloidal silver directly on to your
toothbrush and gently brush reddened gums. If bleeding
occurs, know that this is okay as the colloidal silver will help
draw out pus to get at the bacteria.
  • Alternatively, use colloidal silver as a mouthwash for about a
minute or up to five minutes without swallowing.
  • Take an oral supplement

capsule, and apply the powder directly to the sore area in
    your mouth.

#14: Frankincense essential oil.

infection:

  • Put a dab of frankincense on an ear swab gently apply
Frankincense to the affected area of inflammation in your
mouth. It's important not to use your fingers as you may

area with your fingers. Additionally, you may rub
frankincense to your neck with a carrier oil.

#15: Galbanum (Ferula gummosa).
Galbanum (Ferula gummosa) can help with a tooth infection!
Biblical reference is Ex 30:34, Galbanum supports the immune,
digestive, respiratory, circulatory, and other body systems. It is
also useful as an aid for troubled or mature skin. A published
abstract says it is
effective as a root canal disinfectant!

#16: Garlic.
Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, widely prescribed
garlic as medicine! Garlic is a powerful anti-microbial and is
perhaps the most popular natural cure for ear infections. Since
the two are interrelated, it's good to look into the power of garlic
for an ear infection or a tooth infection. Look also to garlic for
heart disease because there's a relation there as well and garlic
offers many benefits for your cardiovascular system. Basically, the
active compounds in garlic help regulate blood pressure and this
minimizes hypertension. As well, garlic helps improve cholesterol
levels, reducing the risks of heart disease.

What makes garlic so powerful is that it contains an active

through the digestive tract to distribute its power and boost the
immune system. The sulfur compounds in garlic help reduce heavy
metal toxicity.

How to use to garlic help your body cure a tooth infection:

garlic extract pictured at the top of the page. Take the
supplements with your meal, usually twice daily. (Read the
packaging for instructions.) Your breath will not be affected.
The only caveat for taking a garlic supplement is that you
should consult your physician before taking garlic
supplements if you are taking blood thinning medications or
    have any blood disorders.

  • Make a poultice of raw garlic. Mince a raw garlic, or use a
garlic press, to activate the contents of the garlic and use it
as an oral poultice for 20 minutes to a full hour. Do not
swallow. Most of garlic's health benefits The garlic will help
relieve inflammation and draw out any pus. After you spit,
you may like to swish for another ten minutes with coconut
    oil.

  • Garlic and rock salt paste. Crush garlic gloves with rock salt
until it becomes a paste. Use the paste as a poultice and
apply directly to the inflamed area of your mouth. Allow to
absorb for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water.

  • Add minced garlic to your cooking. Alternatively, roasted
garlic spread directly on sourdough bread is enjoyable and
    will help your body heal.

the expiration date so you know whether the product you have is
effective.

How to use hydrogen peroxide to help your body cure a tooth
infection:

  • Make a paste of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda.
You'll need approximately 1/2 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide
to a teaspoon of baking soda. Apply the paste directly to
your abscess and allow it to sit in your mouth before spitting
out, then rinse with warm water. Continue daily as part of
your regimen to reduce inflammation and pain. The two will
work in tandem to neutralize and help restore a pH balance
    in your mouth.

Even so, it's important to know that hydrogen peroxide won't heal
your tooth infection on its own. Use hydrogen peroxide as part of
your regimen.

#18: Green tea (camellia sinesis).
According to an abstract published in the U.S. National Library of
Medicine National Institutes of Health, green tea is a "
boon for
periodontal and general health." The article notes that green tea
benefits periodontal health by reducing inflammation and limiting
growth of certain bacteria. Green contains polyphenols, which
interact with the saliva to control plaque bacteria.  A powerful
catechin antioxidant found in green tea directly kills both bacteria
and viruses. The antioxidant, catechin, has the power kill bacteria
that causes food poisoning by attacking the toxins produced by
the bacteria.

How to use green tea to help your body cure a tooth infection:

  • Drink an organic brand of green tea. Right is green tea
with kombucha to support immune and digestive function.
Also, you can use a wet green tea bag to soothe
inflammation directly on the abscess between the cheeks
    and the tooth.

#19: Oregano Oil.
You may find oil of oregano in cleaning products because of its
antiseptic qualities. It's great to diffuse oregano oil when
seasonal illness comes.
Oregano oil is a super immunity booster!

  • How to use oregano oil to help cure a tooth infection:
With a cotton ball pad or ear swab, dab place a few drops of
oregano oil and then rub directly onto the inflamed area. To

inflammation, it's important not to use your fingers as you
may reinfect the already sensitive area.

#20: Olive oil.
Oil pulling with olive oil is an option for those who can not
tolerate coconut oil. It's mostly a matter of preference, but some
believe olive oil has more natural ability to get out the toxins
than coconut oil. Regionally, where aruyvedic medicine was first
practiced in India, coconut oil was more readily available. Had the
practice started in Italy, perhaps olive oil would have been the
most widely practiced form.

  • How to use olive oil to help cure a tooth infection: Swish a
tablespoon of olive oil for ten 10-20 minutes daily,
alternatively coconut oil. See the oil pulling video above from
Dr. Josh Axe to learn more.

#21: Onion.
Onions have an interesting power to attract bacteria. Like garlic,
onion is a plant in the allium family closely related to garlic, leeks
and shallots, it's invaluable in helping to heal infections. An onion
on its own can't help you heal a tooth infection, but it can
certainly help!

How to use to help cure a tooth infection:

  • Chew on a raw onion to help relieve pain. Then spit it out.
Do not swallow the onion as you will be swallowing the
toxins along with it. After chewing and spitting, rinse with
    warm water.

#22: Myrrh.
Myrrh, alongside frankincense, has a biblical tradition of healing.
Using myrhh to treat a teeth is nothing new. Egyptians used

pain associated with tooth problem as it contains menthol, which

#23: Potato.
Potatoes, which are alkaline in nature, have a role in helping
cancer patients in the
Gerson Therapy protocols. You can place a
potato directly on an abscess to help reduce inflammation,
according to the author of Cure Tooth Decay, pictured left, by
Ramiel Nagel, which is supported with a forward by Timothy
Gallagher, D.D.S. "
The acidic property of the potato pulp will help
slough off of dead cells and infected material," the author says.
Like an onion, a potato on its own can't heal your tooth infection,
but it is a remedy to help draw out the infection and pus.

  • How to use a potato to help your body cure a tooth
infection: Take a raw potato slice and place it directly on the
afflicted area in your mouth. The potato slice may become
discolored after the pus has drawn out. This process will help
reduce the swelling and sooth the inflammation, but again
it's important to note that a piece of potato in your mouth
won't heal your tooth infection, it will only remove some of
the symptoms. Use this method as a first step as you gather
your supplies for dealing with the tooth infection. Think of a
potato for a dental abscess treatment

#24: Raisins (preferably organic).
We heard it through the grapevine that raisins can help you
control dental caries naturally! According to Web MD,
raisins may
help fight cavities.  Thanks to the oleanolic acid content of
raisins, which is a phyto-chemical, eating raisins can inhibit
bacteria growth in your mouth. Dr. Josh Axe, doctor of natural
medicine, also is a proponent of
eating raisins to decrease the
likihood of cavities and gum disease. He says raisins can also
help lower blood pressure and reduce stroke risk, manage
diabetes and more.

What's more, raisins are a natural source of calcium. Now you
have more reason than ever to
stockpile raisins in the prepper's
pantry. Certainly, raisins are an unlikely remedy for toothaches,
but give it a try as part of your personal plan.

How to use raisins to help your body cure a tooth infection:
Eat organic raisins and don't brush your teeth right way. Instead,
let the oleanic acid content in the raisins work the natural miracle
on your tteeth. The reason why organic is important is because
grapes have the most harmful pesticides. Webmd.com says to
buy organic grapes [and raisins] from the United States only,
because "
imported grapes have higher pesticide residues."

#25: Salt water.
Swishing with salt water is always recommended after dental
surgeries, such as  wisdom tooth removal because salt removes
the swelling. "
Salt water mouthwash rinses are an excellent short
term treatment when you have wounds in the mouth, for
instance, when you’ve had teeth removed," Dr. David Kerr states
of Todaysdentistry.com and Australian based site.

How to use saltwater to help your body cure a tooth infection:

  • Swish with warm salt water. It's best to use water you
heat up and allow to cool, rather than toxic hot water from
your tap. While not very pleasant, a lukewarm salt water can
help draw out the pus from an abscess and simultaneously
help kill bacteria, which is at the root of the problem.

It's important to note that salt water alone won't heal your tooth
infection however, it is a good first step towards combating the
problem and help you in treatment of a dental abscess.

#26: Sesame oil.
Oil pulling with Sesame oil is an option for those who can not
tolerate other oils, such as coconut oil or olive oil. Sesame oil is
also an ideal
carrier oil for use with essential oils.

  • How to use sesame oil to help your body cure a tooth
infection: Use the oil pulling method! Swish a tablespoon of
sesame oil for ten 10-20 minutes daily, alternatively coconut
oil. See the oil pulling video above from Dr. Josh Axe to learn
    more.

#27: Tea tree oil.
Our article on tea tree oil in prepping will give you more reason
than ever to stockpile tea tree oil. If you have a collection of
essential oils get out the tea tree oil, which is a prepper favorite
for other conditions like toe nail fungus, and give it a try for your
tooth infection.

  • How to use tea tree oil to help your body cure a tooth
infection: Brush with tea tree oil, but don't swallow. Put one
drop of tea tree oil on top of your normal toothpaste
whenever you brush your teeth. Tea tree oil is toxic, so do
    not swallow.

#28: Thyme oil.
Thyme oil has been useful in dental practice and may even reduce
dental caries. Thyme oil is scientifically proven according an
abstract published in the U.S. National Library of Medicine,
National Institutes of Health, as one of
five essential oils
effective against oral pathogens.  Read more about the benefits
and uses of thyme oil.

#29: Turmeric.
There are many reasons to stockpile turmeric. This golden wonder
powder is great for dealing with inflammation.

The list above of home remedies for tooth infections and
toothaches is for emergency preparedness. Preppers especially
are eager for home remedies and how to cure a dental infection
because the day may come when a dentist is not available.

#30. Xylitol.
Xylitol is a natural ingredient that inhibits bacteria's ability to
stick to your teeth. When bacteria can't stick, they can't colonize.
When they can't colonize, they can't make their acid by-product,
which is the main cause of plaque and tooth decay! Right, is
Spry
a dental defense system that will help you fight tooth decay and
help your teeth remineralize.

  • How to use xylitol to remineralize your teeth. Brush with a
xylitol based-toothpaste, and be sure to chew a xylitola
based gum, like Spry Dental Defense Gum, pictured right.
Spry has a variety of flavors.

Stock up on dental defense gum! Spry gum can help prevent
tooth decay. This gum has no asparatame and instead has
Xylitol, which is a natural ingredient that inhibits bacteria's ability
to stick to your teeth. When bacteria can't stick, they can't
colonize. When they can't colonize, they can't make their acid by-
product, which is the main cause of plaque and tooth decay.

Heal your body from the inside out.
Now you have some tools to help your body to heal itself from
the inside out and let your body cure your tooth infection. This is
a much better option to try rather than masking the problem by
taking chemical antibiotic and then having a costly dental
procedure that could trigger more dental problems down the road.

Certainly, you should give all the above ideas a try, but as we
said above, check in with a dentist so you'll know where you
stand.

If you have a severe toothache, remember to keep your head
elevated vertically, as you use the treatments, such as the tea
bag under the gum. Keeping your head elevated is important to
reduce throbbing blood flow of laying horizontally.

Finally, be sure to check in with a medical professional. The
source of your infection could lead to serious or life threatening
conditions, including:

  • Osteomyelitis (bone infection)
  • Septicemia (serious blood stream infection)
  • brain abscess (cerebral abcess) an inflammation of infected
material coming from dental abscess or through a sinus
    infection

Not everybody can tolerate antibiotics and others can delay or
avoid using them because natural options are available.

Importance of Probiotics in Dental Health
The science says probiotics can help with tooth decay, periodontal
disease, and other oral health problems (source: National Center
for Complementary and Integrative Health, U.S. Department of
Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health).
Antibiotics, like Clindamycin wreak havoc on the internal flora and
ruin your guts, which is why it's more important than ever to
introduce more probiotics to your diet, especially two hours after
or two hours before taking antibiotics.
