Bed bugs have many hiding places:

  • Clothing. Wash clothing in warm or hot water. The dryer will
kill the remaining bugs if you use cold water. Most dry cleaning
    can also kill bed bugs.

  • Couches. Unfortunately bed bugs hid in couches just as much
as they hang out in beds. It turns out bed bugs have an
attraction to upholstery fabric. "Bed bugs, fleas, carpet beetles
and dust mites can all become unwanted sofa guests,"
    according to Hunker.com.

  • Curtains. Because curtains are fabric, bed bugs like to hide
there. Check at hotels for any signs of the little critters.

  • Pillows. A pillow is a cozy dwelling place for a bed bug.

  • Suitcases and inside your car. Traveling is the easiest way to
get bed bugs. The crawl in there from hotels and airports.

  • Mirrors and wall hangings. Bed bugs like to crawl your wall
and take cover behind what's hanging.

  • Stuffed animals. Kids love to bring their stuffies to bed. A
stuffed animal is no different from a pillow to a bed bug, which
is why you'll find them there.
